Sean Lockard is a Second Degree Black Belt who started his martial arts training informally under his uncle as a small child. His formal training started while he was in high school under the late Grand Master Clifford M. McKenzie.

He studied under Grand Master McKenzie until his passing in 2018, by which time he had received his Second Degree Black Belts in both Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido. He has also studied Isshin Ryu Karate, Gung Fu and Krav Maga.

In addition to being a martial arts practitioner, he specializes in making various wooden martial arts weapons including nunchaku, escrima, tonfa and bokken.
